Athanasios Makris is an industrial designer with a master’s degree in advanced industrial production methods. He has 13 years of professional industrial experience in both product design and the digital programming of production machinery and machining centers. He taught courses in design, digital design, and manufacturing at the Technological Educational Institute of Thessaly from 2008 to 2019. He has served as a laboratory instructor in the master’s program “Advanced Methods in Design, Technology, and Management of Wood Products.” He has supervised and advised undergraduate theses related to design and digital fabrication and has participated in several research projects. He is currently a member of the Special Teaching Staff (EDIP) in the Department of Agriculture and Agricultural Technology at the University of Thessaly. His research interests span the entire spectrum of digital fabrication and rapid prototyping, combining additive (3D printing) and subtractive manufacturing technologies, as well as industrial design and robotics.
